Checkout that keeps up with a busy salon floor
Most salon software treats billing as a calculator: pick a service, take the money, print a slip. Real salons are messier than that. One client gets a cut from one stylist and colour from another. She pays half on card and half in cash. She wants to use 400 loyalty points, redeem two sessions from a package she bought in March, and leave a tip for the junior who washed her hair. That single invoice touches five different parts of your business.
TressyPOS is built for that invoice. Every complication above is a first-class feature at checkout, not a workaround — and each one posts to the correct account in your books the moment you hit save.
Split payments: one invoice, many tenders
Settle any bill with any mix of cash, card, bank transfer, loyalty points or membership balance. The POS tracks each portion separately and posts each to its own account, so cash lands in your cash drawer account, card lands in your bank clearing account, and points redemption is recognised as a liability drawdown — not as fresh revenue.
This matters more than it sounds. Salons that record split payments as a single lump lose the ability to reconcile their bank statement, and the error compounds daily until nobody trusts the numbers. TressyPOS keeps the split intact all the way to the Balance Sheet.
Split staff: correct commission, automatically
Assign each line item on an invoice to the staff member who actually performed it. A single bill can carry three stylists' work.
- Per-line attribution — colour to one stylist, blow-dry to another, on the same invoice
- Commission flows automatically to each person's payroll record — no month-end spreadsheet reconstruction
- Per-staff performance reporting that reflects what people actually did, not who happened to ring up the sale
- Tips tracked per staff member, kept separate from salon revenue in the accounts
The alternative — one stylist per invoice — quietly distorts your commission payouts and your staff performance data. Over a year that is real money paid to the wrong people.
Discounts, tips and loyalty points
Apply discounts per line item or across the invoice total, with the reduction recorded as a discount rather than silently hidden inside a lower price. That distinction is what lets you answer the question "how much did we actually give away in discounts last quarter?" — a question most salon POS systems cannot answer at all.
Loyalty points accrue automatically per service and redeem at checkout. Because points carry a real monetary value, TressyPOS treats outstanding points as a liability in your books, so your Balance Sheet reflects what you genuinely owe your regulars.
VIP memberships and prepaid packages
Sell prepaid packages, session bundles or tiered VIP plans. Balances draw down automatically as the client uses them, and the accounting treatment is correct out of the box: money received for services not yet delivered is recognised as deferred revenue, then converted to income as each session is consumed.
This is the single most common place where salon books go wrong. Booking a PKR 50,000 package as revenue on the day it is sold overstates that month's profit and understates every month afterwards. TressyPOS gets this right without you having to think about it.
Offline-safe billing
Cloud-only POS systems have one fatal assumption: the internet is always up. In practice, load-shedding, ISP outages and flaky salon Wi-Fi mean it is not — and a POS that freezes at 7pm on a Saturday costs you the busiest hour of your week.
TressyPOS runs the checkout locally. Billing, receipts and the walk-in queue continue at full speed with no connection at all, and sync resumes automatically when you are back online. Nothing is lost, nothing is double-counted.
Day-close with cash-drawer protection
At the end of each day, the Z-Report closes the business day: it totals every tender type, compares expected cash against counted cash, and flags variances before they become mysteries. Once a day is closed it is locked against silent back-dating, which is what makes the rest of your accounting trustworthy.
A POS without a hard day-close is an honour system. Read more in our guide to day-close and the Z-Report.

Tested like infrastructure, not like an app
The TressyPOS billing and accounting engine is covered by over 500 automated tests that run on every release. Split payments, membership drawdowns, discount handling and rounding are all verified before any build ships. When software is handling your money, "it looked fine when we tried it" is not a standard — a test suite is.
